Jong Ajax, Jong PSV Eindhoven, Jong Utrecht and Jong AZ Alkmaar are all in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie, but Feyenoord refused to place their second team in the second tier of Dutch football.
Former Feyenoord technical director Martin van Geel was not a fan of placing their reserves in the league, but now that he is gone, the opinion within the club has changed.
New general manager Mark Koevermans was unveiled on Tuesday and he confirmed that Jong Feyenoord would be entering the Dutch football pyramid.
Feyenoord are now in talks with the KNVB over what tier they will enter. The goal for the club is to be promoted to the Keuken Kampioen Divisie as soon as possible.
