boetius fey ghvgAccording to Voetbal International, Feyenoord are about to accept a €2.5 million offer from Basel for the 21-year-old, who is happy to sign for the Swiss side despite interest from England and Italy.

Boetius has been missing from Feyenoord’s training ground for the last few days, after reported sickness, but is now believed to be in Switzerland to undergo his medical and put pen to paper on a deal.

Born and raised in Rotterdam, Boetius broke into the Feyenoord first team during the 2012/13 season, and a year later he was one of the club’s star men after netting 11 goals and adding nine assists in 32 games. However last season after Ronald Koeman left and Fred Rutten came in, the winger seemed to lose all confidence, and couldn’t replicate the form which earned him a Netherlands call up in 2014.

Boetius was out of contract with the club next summer, and after talks broke down over a new deal an exit has always been likely.
