According to Italian paper La Nazione, the Dutch international is high on the list of defensive targets for Fiorentina in the January transfer window.
Coach Vincenzo Montella is keen to strengthen his back-line as his side challenge for the Serie A title, and the Europa League.
De Vrij has been a starter in the Feyenoord line-up since making his debut in the 2010/11 season, and has gone on to make over 120 appearances for the club despite being only 21 years old.
Until recently De Vrij was the captain of the Rotterdam side, but was stripped of the armband last month by coach Ronald Koeman, with Graziano Pelle now leading the side, and Jordy Clasie vice captain.
In May, De Vrij signed a new deal with the club until the summer of 2015, and has always spoke of his commitment to the club in the past.
However after being stripped of the captaincy, De Vrij’s head may have been turned by a move to the Italian side, who have also been heavily linked with his teammate Jordy Clasie in the past.
