Since the winger burst onto the scene with Ajax last season, the young Dane has been linked with some of Europe’s biggest clubs including Barcelona, Chelsea, and Real Madrid.
However the 19 year old will stay in Amsterdam this season, and follow Christian Eriksen’s lead by learning his trade at Ajax before seeking a move away.
Fischer told Danish outlet BT, “Enquiries were made, yes. By clubs that would call themselves big clubs. “They were clubs where you normally have to think about it, who you feel flattered. But it was not so difficult for me to say ‘no’. ”
The winger claims that he is focused on Ajax, and is aiming to improve on last season, where he helped the club win their third Eredivisie title in a row.
In his first year with Ajax, Fischer made 33 appearances for the club, scoring an impressive 12 goals, including a double against fierce rivals Feyenoord.
So far this season, Fischer is yet to reach the peak of last year, and was recently dropped to the bench for the away game against Groningen.
