Heracles Almelo failed to move up to third in the table after a shock 5-0 defeat at home to Roda JC.

From the start in Almelo, Roda JC took the upper hand and it was no surprise when they opened the scoring on 28 minutes as Kristoffer Petersen raced to the byline before setting up Georgiy Zhukov for an easy tap-in.
Two minutes before it was 2-0 as Mike van Duinen spun his marker in the box before rifling a strike past Bram Castro. Heracles nearly pulled one back straight away but Mike te Wierik’s strike came back off the post.
Four minutes into the second half Castro could only palm Van Duinen’s shot into the path of Rydell Poepon, who tapped in Roda JC’s third. The attacker then added his second of the game from a corner, before super-sub Maecky Ngombo added a fifth in injury time.
Heracles now sit sixth in the table, while Roda JC remain 14th.
