Bankruptcy is no longer an issue for Eerste Divisie club Fortuna Sittard. The Limburgers announced on their official website that the financial problems are history.

The club has been in serious danger of folding for months, but they have now found a solution which will keep Fortuna Sittard alive and the KNVB satisfied.
A statement on their website read, “It was for a long time extremely uncertain whether Fortuna Sittard persisted because the arrangement 600,000 euros was higher than originally expected. The last few days the club has made every effort to manage these higher costs. Tuesday night Fortuna Sittard found the final solution, which Wednesday was officially ratified, ”
The club did not go into specifics on how they have solved their financial issues, but they will take their place in the Eerste Divisie next season.
