Fortuna Sittard are up to tenth after a comfortable 3-0 victory over PEC Zwolle in Limburg.

Both sides went into the game on the back of confidence-boosting victories in the KNVB Cup, especially PEC Zwolle, who put five goals past De Graafschap.

However, it was Fortuna Sittard who made a great start on Sunday with Finn Stokkers netting the opening goal after only three minutes. Mike van Duinen came close to an equaliser before the break but he was denied by Alexei Koselev with the help of the post.

Lars Hutten hit the post for the hosts just after the break before a second goal eventually came in the 67th minute. Thomas Lam held on to Stokkers in the box and Mark Diemers netted the resulting penalty.

Four minutes before the end, Fortuna were awarded a second penalty for a foul by Gustavo Hamer and Diemers netted again to seal the victory.

Fortuna Sittard rise to tenth in the Eredivisie, while PEC Zwolle drops to 13th.
