Eighteen-year-old Dutch defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah came off the bench to make his Manchester United debut in the 3-2 win over Arsenal on Saturday.

The Netherlands U19 international has impressed for Manchester United’s U21’s this season, and was named on the bench for the first time by Louis van Gaal on Sunday. However, after Marcos Rojo went down injured on 58 minutes, Fosu-Mensah was summoned to make his debut at left back.
The young Dutchman, who is usually a centre halve, looked composed and confident during his half-hour on the pitch and after the game Van Gaal was full of praise for the youngster.
He told the press, “He came on and did fantastically. He didn’t make any mistakes.”
Fosu-Mensah (18 years, 57 days) became the fourth youngest Dutchman to make his debut in the Eredivisie after Nathan Ake (17 years, 312 days), Jeffrey Bruma (17 years, 345 days) and Karim Rekik (18 years, 20 days)
