Racist chants directed at Ajax and FC Twente supporters from their famous ”Bunnikside” tribune in the Galgenwaard stadium recently has lead to Utrecht being fined quite heavily by the KNVB.
Utrecht’s Frans van Seumeren has now spoken to RTV Utrecht about his anger over the chants and has threatened to leave the club.
Van Seumeren said, ” I am completely fed up of it”.
”We are busy with everyone trying to build something here at FC Utrecht and that consistently gets broken down by a small group of people inside the stadium. I find it to be terrible antisocial behavior and these supporters do not realize what they are doing”.
” For example against Ajax it appears that we must play without the away support from Amsterdam. In such an instance we have to take the needed measures so that it does not end up costing us a fine of 150.000 euros of our income”.
” I do not understand how our supporters cannot comprehend that and we receive fines sometimes 10.000 and then 20.000 or 30.000 euros at the expense of the football club. I find it terrible that we consistently have to put up with it”.
”It must stop otherwise I will leave because I cannot allow myself to permit this”.
