The 20-year-old has caught the eye this season in the Ajax first team, with one goal and two assists in twelve appearances. However, he has not been able to hold down a spot in the starting line-up and most of his appearances have come from the bench.

Despite not being a regular starter in Amsterdam yet reports in England are already linking the Netherlands U21 international with a move abroad with The Sun reporting that Arsenal are ready to battle Chelsea and Manchester City to sign the youngster.

The Premier League clubs have been regularly scouting Ajax games and have reportedly been impressed by what they have seen by De Jong, who signed for Ajax from Willem II back in 2015.

Frenkie de Jong was one of Football-Oranje’s top 50 youngsters to watch this season. To read more about the midfielder click here.
