He said, ”I am happy and I am playing with more confidence this season and when you have confidence you play better. I feel good and every time I come out on the pitch I give everything in order to play well and keep my place in the starting lineup. I feel settled here in the Netherlands after a year and a half.”

Pereiro also elaborated on his hopes to play the Uruguayan national team in the future, ”I played for the Uruguay under 20 team but I have never played for the first team. We have a lot of good players so I have to keep working hard to come into contention. It would be a dream to play for the Uruguyan national team. I am not sad about not having made my debut yet as I am not good enough. I have to improve and eventually deserve my place in the squad.

”As far as I am aware the national team know that I play my football in the Netherlands for PSV Eindhoven so we shall just have to wait and see if I am called up to the national team in the future.”
