PEC Zwolle currently sit fourth in the Eredivisie after an excellent start to the season and the club are targeting a place in Europe.

Nijkamp said, “Yesterday we had our yearly evaluation with the back room staff and we have set the objective to reach the play-offs in order to qualify for Europe.

“We also know that a route to playing European football is available by reaching the KNVB Cup Final.

“We play AZ Alkmaar who have enquired about our defender Phillipe Sandler. We have let AZ Alkmaar know our stance and what we believe Philippe Sandler is worth.

“AZ Alkmaar did not agree with our stance and at this moment in time Philippe Sandler is still a PEC Zwolle player and he will remain with us until the end of the season.”
