The battle of the two promoted sides saw Cambuur make the brighter start, and they were unlucky not to be ahead, when Ramon Leeuwin’s header was cleared off the line, via the post.
The woodwork then came to Cambuur’s rescue, as following a corner, there was chaos in the box, and two headers from Go Ahead Eagles came off the bar.
Just before half time Cambuur were reduced to 10 men, when Martijn van der Laan was shown a straight red for an over the top challenge.
In the second half, Go Ahead Eagles searched for the winner, but Erik Falkenburg, Jarchinio Antonia, and Doke Schmidt all missed good opportunities.
In the final minute, the home sides night was summed up when a great strike from Jeffrey Rijsdijk came back off the inside of the post, and rebounded to safety.
Cambuur defended brilliantly for their precious point, while Go Ahead Eagles will be disappointed that not one of their many chances didn’t find the net.
The point sees Cambuur rise to 7th, and Go Ahead Eagles stay a place behind in 8th.
