The visitors started well and thought they had opened the scoring on ten minutes when Gaston Pereiro stooped to head in. However, the goal was disallowed for a foul by Hector Moreno.
PSV had to wait until the 39th minute to open the scoring with Siem de Jong netting from the spot after Rochdi Achenteh was penalised for pulling back Davy Propper.
Three minutes into the second half Go Ahead Eagles drew themselves level when Daniel Crowly’s cross found Elvis Manu, and the winger finished past Jeroen Zoet.
PSV remained in control after the shock equaliser and on the hour mark. Luuk de Jong slid Santiago Arias cross into the net from close range to restore their lead. Pereiro missed a great chance to make it 3-1 shortly afterwards but eventually Andres Guardado sealed the victory with a fine finish from Steven Bergwijn’s cross.
The win moves PSV to within a point of Ajax in second and five behind leaders Feyenoord. Go Ahead Eagles drop to 16th.
