ant v goThe home side got off to a great start when Alex Schalk back-heeled Deniz Turuc’s shot into the bottom corner after only 19 minutes. It could have been 2-0 before the break but Padt saved Jop van der Linden’s free kick, while Marnix Kolder fired into the side netting.

Five minutes into the second half it was 2-0 with Lesley de Sa cutting in from the right hand side before sending an unstoppable shot into the top corner.

The Groningen comeback began on 57 minutes when Tjarron Chery fired low into the bottom corner from the edge of the box to make it 2-1. On 75 minutes it was 2-2 as Jarchinio Antonio chipping the ball to the back post for Michael de Leeuw to head in from close range.

With four minutes to go Groningen found the winner and it was ex-Go Ahead Eagles winger Jarchinio Antonia who found it with a diving header from close range.

Great entertainment in Deventer, but Go Ahead Eagles coach Foeke Booy will be wondering how his side lost after being so dominant in the first half.
