Two penalties helped Go Ahead Eagles to their second win of the season as they saw off Excelsior 3-0 in Deventer.

The home side took the lead on eleven minutes when Sander Duits was afforded far too much space by the Excelsior defence to head a corner into the net at the far post.

After half an hour Jurgen Mattheij brought down Sinan Bytyqi in the box and substitute Sam Hendriks converted from the penalty spot to extend Go Ahead Eagles lead.

Before the hour mark, Excelsior were reduced to ten when Danilo Pantic was shown his second yellow card and their defeat was sealed when Terell Ondaan handled in the box to give Go Ahead another penalty which Hendriks also netted.

The victory lifts Go Ahead up to 12th while Excelsior are 10th.
