Mario Gotze had a dream debut for PSV Eindhoven as they defeated PEC Zwolle 3-0 to go top of the Eredivisie.

Roger Schmidt immediately handed Mario Gotze his debut in the starting eleven, while Ibrahim Sangare also appeared for the first time in a PSV shirt.

After only eight minutes, Gotze made an instant impact, racing onto a bad backpass before slotting the ball into the net calmly.

In the 18th minute, Cody Gakpo fired in a second for the visitors before the in-form winger set up Donyell Malen to make it 3-0.

After a foul by Timo Baumgartl, PEC Zwolle got the chance to pull one back, but Reza Ghoochannejhad saw his awful penalty saved by Yvon Mvogo.

In the second half, PSV took their foot off the gas and they eased to a victory. Gotze lasted 67 minutes on his debut before making way for Mohamed Ihattaren. Adrien Fein came on for his debut late on.

PSV go top of the table and one point ahead of Ajax, while PEC Zwolle are 11th.
