Groningen made it two wins from two games as they comfortably saw off Heracles Almelo 3-1 in the Euroborg.

Tjarron Chery got the home side off to a great start after only seven minutes as he swept home Danny Hoesen’s cut back to make it 1-0.
On the half hour mark Groningen were forced into a change with Rasmus Lindgren going off for Michael de Leeuw, and after only a few minutes on the pitch the substitute made it 2-0. De Leeuw raced on to a pass through the middle, before slipping the ball into the bottom corner.
Ilias Bel Hassani pulled a goal back for Heracles just before the hour mark, with the forward curling the ball perfectly past Sergio Padt to give the visitors hope.
However the hope was short lived as Yoell van Nieff found the bottom corner with a perfect free kick from 25 yards to give Groningen a 3-1 win.
Groningen are in the top four with their second win of the season, while Heracles have now lost both of their matches in a worrying start for the Almelo side.
