Groningen earned their first away win of the season as they easily saw off ADO Den Haag 3-0 in the Kyocera Stadion.

Bjørn Johnsen returned to the ADO Den Haag starting line-up as they looked to end their struggle for goals, but the Norwegian missed the first big chance of the game, sending a header wide.

Groningen took control as the half wore on and just before the break, Ritsu Doan capitalised on an error by Danny Gorter before slotting past Robert Zwinkels to put the visitors ahead.

ADO searched for an equaliser in the second half but with twenty-five minutes left, Oussama Idrissi sealed Groningen’s victory, firing past Zwinkels from the edge of the box after some good work by Jesper Drost. Juninho Bacuna then added a third with a minute to go from close range to make it 3-0.

The victory lifts Groningen to 13th and two places behind ADO Den Haag.
