FC Groningen have come out and said that they are happy with the Europa League draw for the 2014-15 campaign. The club will face either Aberdeen of Scotland or Daugava Riga of Latvia on Thursday 17th of July followed by the return leg at home a week later.

The Green and White Army qualified for the second round of the competition by beating AZ Alkmaar 3-0 in the playoffs and thus ending the season with a run of 10 games unbeaten.
Managing director Hans Nijland had this to say about the draw on club’s website,
“We wanted an opponent where it was possible for our supporters to make the trip, with that regard; we can definitely be satisfied with this draw.”
“We have already met with the delegation of Aberdeen and it was a very pleasant first experience. Aberdeen is obviously a club name from the past, and the atmosphere and ambience of British football matches football experience of our own supporters. The outbox can accommodate 2,000 spectators, so we’re told.
“The delegation of Daugava Riga, we have not hit there. Riga It is said is s a beautiful city and very good for our supporters to travel short. We are really excited and looking forward to it.”
