A 94th minute equaliser from Hedwiges Maduro earned Groningen a 1-1 draw at Willem II.

Willem II coach Jurgen Streppel once again left striker Richairo Zivkovic out of his selection as Nick van der Velden started in attack, but it was a familiar story in Tilburg as the home side struggled to take their chances.
Erik Falkenburg was the first guilty party for the home side with his close range header well kept out by Sergio Padt before the midfielder failed to work in the rebound. At the other end Bryan Linssen came within inches of the opening goal as his lob just fell over the bar.
Eventually Willem II did break the deadlock on 44 minutes with Dries Wuytens beating Padt from a Lucas Andersen corner.
In the second half the home side should have killed off the game, but Falkenburg missed another golden chance, while Robbie Hamhouts shot straight at Padt’s legs after an excellent backheel from Andersen and Fuso Ojo hit the bar with a cracking effort.
Groningen laid siege to the Willem II goal in the last five minutes but it seemed their efforts were to prove worthless until the 94th minute when Hedwiges Maduro fired in an equaliser from a corner.
The draw sees Willem II sit 14th while Groningen are ninth.
