Groningen have confirmed the signing of Halmstads BK forward Gabriel Gudmundsson.

The 20-year-old has signed a three-year deal in the Euroborg and becomes Groningen’s first signing of the summer.
Groningen Technical director Mark-Jan Fledderus told the club’s website “We have made an analysis of our selection with our strengths and where our points of attention lie. One of those points of attention is that we have an offensive need for speed, power and depth in our game. Gabriel brings these elements with him. He is a left-footed player who can handle different attacking positions.
“Gabriel is known in Sweden as one of the greater talents. We are therefore proud that we have managed to convince him with our sporting plans to opt for FC Groningen. ”
Gabriel Gudmundsson made 88 appearances for Halmstads, scoring 16 goals and contributing eight assists.
