According to De Telegraaf, Ajax have received a €43 million bid from Guangzhou Evergrande for David Neres.

Earlier this week it was reported that the Chinese club had lodged a €30 million bid for the Brazilian winger, which did not meet Ajax’s asking price of €40 million.

Now it appears that a departure is likely with Guangzhou Evergrande increasing their offer to €43 million, but Ajax will only accept it on one condition. They only want to sell Neres should they bring in Diego Lainez from Club América. An agreement for the Mexican winger is said to be close.

Neres himself is open to a move to China as he will receive a much higher salary, while he has also been angered by Erik ten Hag’s rotation policy which has seem him dropped to the bench several times this season.
