Andres Guardado has left PSV Eindhoven to sign a three-year deal with Spanish side Real Betis.

The Mexican had been heavily linked with a move away from Eindhoven as he came into the final year of his contract. American side Los Angeles FC were believed to be favourites, but Guardado has opted for a return to Spain, signing a contract with Real Betis until 2020.

PSV have received around €2.3 million for the 30-year-old, who joined the club initially on loan from Valencia back in 2014 before making the move permanent a year later.

Guardado made 98 appearances for PSV, scoring four times and adding 19 assists. PSV are not set to sign a replacement with Jorrit Hendrix set to take the veteran’s place in midfield.
