Guus Hiddink has named his 25-man preliminary Netherlands squad for next months friendly against Italy and the first Euro qualifier versus Czech Republic.

Netherlands travel to Italy for a friendly on the 3rd of September, before starting their European Championship qualifying campaign in the Czech Republic on the 9th of September.
Stoke City left back Erik Pieters is the surprise name in the 25-man preliminary squad, while both Gregory van der Wiel, and Rafael van der Vaart are back after missing the World Cup with injury. Feyenoord’s Terence Kongolo, and soon to be Napoli midfielder Jonathan de Guzman miss out.
