Sebastien Haller is delighted with his move to Ajax and is hoping to make the perfect debut against PSV Eindhoven on Sunday.

Ajax confirmed the signing of the 26-year-old on Friday morning with the striker signing a deal until 2025.

Haller told Ajax website, “To be fair, this has been going on for a few months. When I knew it could come to an agreement, I was happy. It was just a matter of patience.

“This is a club where you can show yourself, here you can play Champions League and compete for the title every season. That winning mentality is a perfect fit for a striker like me.”

Haller is happy to be reunited with his former Utrecht head coach Erik ten Hag, “How we prepared a match then and the way he spoke to me, how he gave me confidence and advice, of course that’s something you will never forget.”

Haller is now targeting a goal on his debut against PSV Eindhoven on Sunday, “I’m looking forward to getting started. I hope I can be there against PSV. If I can be there, I hope that I score and that we win. That would be a dream and a perfect start to my adventure at Ajax.”
