Hamburg have announced the loan signing of both Benfica winger Ola John and Juventus midfielder Ouasim Bouy until the end of the season.

bouy aHamburg have been struggling in the Bundesliga this season and sit only two points above the relegation zone in 14th place going into the winter break.

There bid for survival has been boosted by the signing of John, and Bouy until the end of the season, with both the young Dutchmen having something to prove.

John had not featured for Benfica in the Portuguese league this season, and was reportedly close to agreeing a loan to Ajax last week, but the Eredivisie side pulled out. The winger is eager to be a part of the World Cup squad next summer, and will get a chance to impress Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal in the Bundesliga.

Bouy was seen as one of Ajax’s biggest talents before the midfielder left for Juventus in 2012, but his time in Italy has been dogged by injury. The 20-year-old made his official debut for the club in a Coppa Italia match this season, and will be eager to convince Juventus bosses he has a future at the club by helping Hamburg stay up.

The duo join Dutchmen Van Marwijk, and Rafael van der Vaart at Hamburg, and could make their official debut’s against Klaas jan Huntelaar’s Schalke on the 26th of January
