FC Groningen coach Ernest Faber insists the contract dilemma with Hans Hateboer will not influence his team selection.

Having informed the club earlier this month on his decision not to renew his contract Hans Hateboer will still be considered for selection according to his coach Ernest Faber.
Faber said even though the situation was not ideal, Hateboer would still be considered for selection based purely on form. “If Hans is doing his job well and full of keeps going, then I will pick him.” Faber continued “I need the best eleven to play and I have the freedom needed to determine the best team for the game.”
“We have repeatedly tried to find a new agreement with him, but Hateboer has not let us know he does not want to renew his contract at FC Groningen,” said general director Hans Nijland on the club website “That is very unfortunate and regrettable.”
The Dutch U21 international right back won with FC Groningen the KNVB Cup in 2015 will have to be sold this next transfer window for Groningen before his contract expires next summer. Currently the club is on a disappointing run and are fifteenth in the Eredivisie.
