Hannover 96 have confirmed the signing of young winger Emil Hansson from Feyenoord.

The 21-year-old impressed on loan with RKC Waalwijk last season, scoring 13 goals and adding 12 assists, but did not appear to be in the plans of Jaap Stam.

Hansson has now decided to depart Feyenoord and has signed a three-year deal with Hannover 96.

Quoted on the website of his agents Wasserman, Hansson said, “After a great season at RKC, I returned to Rotterdam with great expectations, but in the end a departure turned out to be the best option. Hannover offers me a wonderful opportunity. Given the type of football, it will take some getting used to, but I am convinced that I can succeed here.”

Feyenoord signed Hansson from SK Brann back in 2016 but the Swede only made four appearances for the club’s first-team.
