A strong second half performance saw Heerenveen came from 2-0 down to earn  2-2 draw against Go Ahead Eagles.

raitala heeTwo losses in their last two matches had seen Go Ahead Eagles slide down the table to 14th, but they took a shock lead at the Abe Lenstra Stadion when Marnix Kolder side-footed Lars Lambooij’s cross past Kristoffer Nordfelt on 21 minutes.

Mark Uth hit the post for Heerenveen before Go Ahead doubled their lead on 28 minutes as a swift counter attack ended with Alex Schalk slotting in Jeffrey Rijsdijk’s cross.

Dwight Lodeweges must have had some harsh words for his players at the half time break as four minutes into the second period Daley Sinkgraven halved the deficit with a low finish past Mickery van der Hart.

Heerenveen pushed for the equaliser which finally came when Jukka Raitala controlled the ball on the edge of the box before sending an unstoppable strike into the bottom corner with five minutes to go.

Neither side could find the winning goal and had to settle for a point apiece. The point sees Go Ahead drop a place to 15th while Heerenveen sit 7th.
