Heerenveen closed in on the top four in the Eredivisie with a 3-0 win over PEC Zwolle at the Abe Lenstra Stadion.

van laThe home side started well with Marten de Roon sending an effort just over, before Joey van den Berg headed a corner at PEZ keeper Begois.

Zwolle grew into the match as the first half went on with Karagounis sending a long range effort just wide, while Giovanni Hiwat danced through the Heerenveen defence before being denied by Kristoffer Nordfeldt.

Heerenveen took the lead eight minutes before the break as Bilal Basacikoglu showed good feet in the box before slotting the ball past Begois to make it 1-0.

On 68 minutes it was 2-0 for the home side thanks to a great effort from Rajiv van la Parra who fired into the top corner from the left hand side of the box.

Ten minutes later AlfreĆ³ Finnbogason sealed the three points by making 3-0, with the striker running onto Van la Parra’s through ball before sliding it into the net.

The win moves Heerenveen temporarily two points behind 4th placed Feyenoord, while Zwolle remain 8th.
