Heerenveen has confirmed the signing of Pawel Bochniewicz from Górnik Zabrze and the loan arrival of Bayern Munich talent Oliver Batista Meier.

Heerenveen has been looking for a new centre-back with Sven Botman leaving at the end of last season after his loan from Ajax ended.

They now have their man with Bocniewicz signing a three-year deal in Friesland after Heerenveen agreed a fee of around €1 million for the 24-year-old.

The Polish defender has previously played for Reggina and Udinese in Italy, along with the Spanish side Granada.

Heerenveen also confirmed the loan signing of Meier from Bayern Munich on Thursday. The 19-year-old winger is highly rated in Munich and has made his first-team debut, but will spend this season in the Eredivisie.
