Heerenveen finally secured their first win of 2020 with a 3-2 victory at FC Twente.

After he impressed in the draw against ADO last week, Alan Halilovic was rewarded with a start. He proved why in the fourth minute as his shot was parried by Joel Drommel into the path of Hicham Faik, who slotted Heerenveen ahead.

In the 48th minute, Halilovic then set up Chidera Ejuke, who made his way into the Twente box before firing in a second for the visitors. Seven minutes later, Joey Veerman fired past Drommel from the edge of the box to make it 3-0.

Heerenveen were cruising but in the 65th minute, Twente were awarded a very soft penalty when Sven Botman gave Peet Bijen a light push. Haris Vuckic made no mistake from the spot.

Twente then made a game of it in the 72nd minute, when Lindon Selahi combined well with Queensy Menig before slotting his low strike into the net.

The hosts poured forward but Heerenveen held on for the victory which moves them 10th while Twente sits 14th.
