Heerenveen’s wait for a win continued on Sunday as they could only manage a 1-1 draw at VVV-Venlo.

Heerenveen went into the game on a nine game winless run and came up against the top scorer in the league with Georgios Giakoumakis scoring six goals in his last two games for VVV.
The first-half was a rather dull affair with the only real chance falling to Henk Veerman, but he was denied by Thorsten Kirschbaum.
Heerenveen had the better of the second half too, but in the 78th minute, Joshua John fired VVV in front with an excellent strike.
Substitute Benjamin Nygren found the top corner in the 89th minute to equalise for Heerenveen and rescue a point.
Heerenveen sit eighth despite their poor form, while VVV are 14th.
