Following news that Daley Blind will sign for Manchester United, Ajax appear to have identified Sinkgraven as a possible addition to their midfield.
Earlier in the day Heerenveen director Hans Vonk told Fox Sports that no club had been in contact over the hugely talented 19-year-old, but the player himself confirmed Ajax’s interest.
Speaking to Fox Sports after Heerenveen’s 3-1 win over Utrecht, Sinkgraven responded to a question about Ajax, saying,”Its a great compliment that Ajax are interested. They have made themselves known to my agent. I don’t know if there will be a follow up.”
Sinkgraven broke into the Heerenveen first team last season, and the midfielder has so far made 21 league appearances for the Frisian club, while he has represented Netherlands at U19 level.
Ajax have until Monday night to use the money they have received for Daley Blind and are said to also be chasing an experienced midfielder.
