Heerenveen have climbed to fifth in the table after a comfortable 3-1 victory at RKC Waalwijk.

RKC went into the game on the back of a confidence boosting victory at Utrecht last weekend. However, Heerenveen were stronger from the start and that resulted in the lead after 26 minutes.

A swift attack ended with Sherel Floranus crossing for Rodney Kongolo to find the net from close range.

Heerenveen remained in control but they failed to kill the game and with 15 minutes left, RKC equalised through an excellent strike from Stijn Spierings into the top corner.

In the 83rd minute, Jens Odgaard was played in on goal and he calmly slotted Heerenveen back in front. Anders Dreyer then made it 3-1 before the end with a nice strike.

Heerenveen are now up to fifth in the table while RKC remains rock-bottom.
