Voetbal International report that Heitinga will immediately join Galatasaray until the end of the season, with an option for a further year at the club.
The defender will now get the chance to earn the first team football that may see him come into contention for the Netherlands squad heading to next summers World Cup.
Heitinga’s days at Everton have seemed to be number for a while, with the defender only making one appearance in the Premier League so far this season.
West Ham United failed with a move earlier in January, while Serie A club Roma have also been heavily linked with a move.
However Heitinga will now join up with fellow Dutchman Wesley Sneijder at Galatasaray, with the two being reunited after their days at Ajax together. Galatasaray will be Heitinga’s fourth club, having also represented Atletico Madrid before his move to Everton.
