Fraser was also pushed as to whether he harbours ambitions to manage Feyenoord one day. He strongly stated how committed he is to Vitesse and that he is aware that he must first perform well at the club in order to ever come into consideration for another manager’s post in the Netherlands or abroad.

Fraser said on facing van Bronckhorst, ”I never expected during my playing career when I played together with Giovanni van Bronckhorst at Feyenoord that we would one day be facing each other as managers in the technical area.

”Gio has developed due the top clubs where he played during his career and maybe that lead to his natural progression as a manager.”

Fraser added on potentially managing Feyenoord,  ”I am not even thinking about that. I am now manager of Vitesse and it is a great challenge. I feel that in the short time that I have been here that I want and must perform well and when that is the case I can look to the next challenge.

”My dreams are also based on realism and the fact remains that I must first continue to convince people of my ability and I enjoy that.

”In the future people may talk of a link to Feyenoord or to go abroad but at the moment I fully realize that I must perform well here at Vitesse.”
