After only two minutes, Heracles had the lead, when Memphis Depay lost the ball in a dangerous area, and Lerin Duarte curled the ball around Joroen Zoet with an excellent finish.
PSV were extremely sloppy on the artificial pitch in Almelo, with a blocked Jurgen Locadia shot the closest they came to an equaliser in the first half.
The home side could have went further ahead, as Bryan Linssen’s curled effort in the second half came crashing off the bar, while Thomas Bruns shot just wide.
Phillip Cocu’s side then suffered a blow, when captain Georginio Wijnaldum had to be carried off the pitch with an injury, which makes him a doubt for their Champions League second leg against AC Milan.
However it was Wijnaldum’s replacement, Park Ji Sung, who netted a late leveler for PSV, as the South Korean received the ball in the box, before turning his defender, and prodding the ball into the bottom corner.
The first dropped points for PSV this season, sees them knocked off the top of the table, while Heracles built on their impressive victory over Heerenveen last week, and will be happy with the point.
