toornUtrecht came close to opening the scoring in the 9th minute, but Steve de Ridder’s effort was cleared off the line, while Jens Toornstra fired just wide minutes later.

Heracles had the lead after 25 minutes, when Robbin Ruiter stopped Thomas Bruns, but on the rebound Bel Hassani reacted the quickest to fire into the bottom corner.

Ten minutes into the second half, Toornstra found the equaliser with a deflected effort from just outside the box. Heracles were furious the goal stood with De Ridder appearing to handle the ball in the build-up.

With ten minutes left, a ball across the box was not dealt with by the Heracles defence, and found its way to Toornstra at the back post, the midfielder took a touch before drilling low past Rempko Pasveer.

Heracles could find no equaliser, and Utrecht held onto the three points which moved them up into the top ten in the table. Heracles remain 15th, and only once place in front of the drop zone, as their poor start to the season continues.
