Heracles Almelo remain rooted to the bottom of the Eredivisie after a 3-1 defeat to Willem II.

herwilndjdjThe visitors took the lead after 21 minutes when a long goal kick from Kostas Lamprou reached Freek Heerkens, and his cross from the right wing was brilliantly headed over the goalkeeper by Stijn Wuytens.

Ten minutes into the second half Willem II doubled their lead and it was former Heracles forward Samuel Armenteros who raced onto a through ball before sliding the ball under Dennis Telgenkamp. The forward then added his second of the game on 75 minutes, rounding Telgenkamp before slotting into the empty net.

A 20-yard strike from Oussama Tannane gave Heracles hope, but it was too little too late for the home side, and Willem II held on for the win.

The win lifts Willem II up to 8th, while Heracles sit 18th and seven points from safety. Another night to forget for the team from Almelo.
