Before the winter break, Go Ahead Eagles ended a four-game losing streak with a shock win over Feyenoord and they looked confident early on in Almelo. The visitors took the lead after 17 minutes when Joey Groenbast played Jarchinio Antonia through on goal with an excellent pass, and the winger calmly slotted his shot past Bram Castro.
Heracles took control after falling behind but they had to wait until the 68th minute to find the equaliser. Substitute Vincent Vermeij won an aerial challenge and the ball dropped in front of Armenteros, who sent a brilliant volley into the net.
Armenteros then sealed victory for Heracles late on with a lovely run into the box before sliding the ball past Theo Zwarthoed.
The win moves Heracles to tenth, while Go Ahead Eagles are 14th.
