Heracles moved away from the Eredivisie relegation zone with a 2-1 win over RKC Waalwijk on Friday night.

uth dAfter a quiet opening period, Heracles took the lead after 40 minutes, when Bryan Linssen tapped home at the back post after a scramble in the box.

On 53 minutes Heracles made it 2-0 with Mark Uth heading in unmarked from a few yards out after a pinpoint cross from  Mikhail Rosheuvel.

RKC pulled a goal back on 63 minutes as Damiano Schet’s free kick was deflected into the net past a helpless Remko Pasveer.

The away side threw on new signing Daniel de Ridder as they looked for an equaliser, but although they created a number of chances in the last 20 minutes, Heracles held on for the three points.

The win sees Heracles rise into the top ten and into ninth place, while RKC remain only one place above the relegation in 15th.
