The visitors had the lead after 14 minutes with Guus Hupperts prodding into the net from close range after great work from Mitchell Donald, who played a 1-2 with Djoum before sending in the perfect cross.
Hupperts missed a great chance to put Roda JC 2-0 up, and they were made to pay two minutes before the break as Bryan Linssen netted with a fine low strike into the bottom corner to equalise for Heracles.
In the second half, Anouar Kali should have restored Roda JC’s lead but after being played through one on one with Pasveer, the midfielder could not find the net.
With 10 minutes to go Heracles found the winning goal and it was once again Linssen who found the net with a brilliant finish on the turn from just inside the box.
The win lifts Heracles to 12th, while Roda JC remain in deep trouble in 17th.
