Heracles Almelo recorded their first win of the season after hammering 10-man NAC Breda 6-1 on Saturday.

bruns ahdjhThe home side had lost seven games on the bounce in the league, but got off to a perfect start after NAC keeper Jelle ten Rouwelaar brought down striker Wout Weghorst, and Jeroen Veldmate fired Heracles in front from the penalty spot.

Ten minutes later midfielder Thomas Bruns made it 2-0 for Heracles with an excellent strike into the top corner from 25 yards, and minutes later NAC Breda were reduced to ten men when Stipe Perica earned a straight red for a terrible challenge on Simon Cziommer.

Wout Weghorst, who was called up to Netherlands U21 squad yesterday, made it 3-0 before the break from close range, and Joel Pelupessy added a fourth on 64 minutes with a low shot into the bottom corner.

Mats Seuntjens pulled one back for NAC Breda on 75 minutes, but Iliass Bel Hassani curled into the top corner to make it 5-1 before Jaroslav Navratil completed the rout in injury time.

The win is not enough to lift Heracles off the bottom of the table, but at least gets them their first points and a huge confidence boost, while NAC Breda remain 14th.
