Heracles Almelo kept up their good recent form by seeing off a poor ADO Den Haag side 1-0 on Saturday night.

davidson aAfter a 4-0 hammering at home to Roda JC last week, ADO Den Haag started the match like they had something to prove, and should have taken the lead early on. A great cross from Ninos Gouriye was not met firmly enough by striker Mike van Duinen, and was not trouble for Rempko Pasveer in the home goal.

Van Duinen then missed another opportunity for the away side, as he fired over after a decent cross from Aaron Meijers.

These misses were then punished by the home side on 31 minutes, as they took the lead through Jason Davidson, who finished past Coutinho after a rebound.

After the break, ADO Den Haag looked for the equaliser but could not create any chances that troubled an organised Heracles defence, and they held out for the slim win.

The match signals the final Heracles appearance for Lerin Duarte, who looks set to join Ajax as a replacement for Christian Eriksen, and he will be happy to depart on a win.

ADO Den Haag will however be worried about their terrible start to the season, with four losses out of five games, and they sit only two places above the bottom spot.
