Heracles Almelo have confirmed the signing of Utrecht striker Cyriel Dessers on a three-year deal.

Dessers had a frustrating campaign with Utrecht which saw him restricted to seventeen appearances due to a knee issue. He scored seven goals, though, including two in the end of season European playoffs.

New Utrecht boss John van den Brom has decided that the 24-year-old is not in his plans for next season and he has been allowed to depart for Heracles.

He is the replacement for Spaniard Adrian Dalmau, who is trying to force his way out of Almelo after Heracles refused a bid, believed to be from Maccabi Haifa.

Dessers told the Heracles website, “This is a great opportunity for me, it feels like a new adventure. My style of football fits in with Heracles Almelo’s philosophy of wanting to play offensive. I am happy to be here now and would like to show what I can do. ”
