Heracles Almelo has put an end to their winless run with a shock 2-1 win at Heerenveen.

Heerenveen went into the game on a run of four straight draws, while Heracles hadn’t won in five games.

In the sixth minute it was Heracles who took the lead with Delano Burgzorg finding the net. Heerenveen almost equalised before the break, but Henk Veerman hit the post.

Mats Knoester headed Heracles into a 2-0 lead early in the second half, before Joey Veerman pulled one back with a nice strike from distance.

Heerenveen pushed for an equaliser but they ended the game with ten-men after Pawel Bochniewicz saw red for taking out Adrian SzΓΆk.

Heerenveen lose and now sit 8th in the table, while Heracles are 12th.
