After a terrible start to the season Eredivisie bottom side Heracles Almelo have sacked their coach Jan de Jonge.

On Saturday evening Heracles let a lead slip to Eredivisie new boys Excelsior before succumbing to a 3-1 loss, their fourth straight defeat of the season.
The club’s board met after the match, and on Sunday it was announced that Jan de Jonge had become the first managerial casualty of the season. De Jonge took charge of Heracles in June 2013, and guided the club to a safe 14th place finish last season.
Heracles now have the whole international break to find a successor, who they hope will be in charge for the visit to champions Ajax on the 13th of September.
