Heracles Almelo have swooped to sign Utrecht full-back Jeff Hardeveld on a two-year-deal.

With the arrival of Urby Emanuelson this summer, Hardeveld’s chances of game time in Utrecht were reduced, and the club have allowed the 22-year-old to leave for Almelo.

Hardeveld told the official Heracles website, “I would like to play again in the Eredivisie. I had nice conversations and also saw the stadium. It all looks good and professional. I spoke to a number of people, including Kristoffer Peterson. He was also very positive.”

Hardeveld left the Feyenoord academy to join Utrecht in 2014, but was limited by injuries to only nineteen league appearances.
